Virginia Tech Says Thanks to The Bridge

Recently Dr. Charles W. Steger, Virginia Tech President, hosted the
community churches and houses of worship on the campus of Virginia Tech
to thank them for being a "spiritual comfort" to the Virginia Tech
community during the April 16, 2007 tragedy.
As an expression of this appreciation, The Bridge (Christiansburg Foursquare Church), was presented with a personalized certificate of appreciation that reads as follows:
"With Admiration and Appreciation: A horrific act of violence committed against innocent members of the Virginia Tech community on April 16, 2007, spurred a spontaneous outpouring of love and support from throughout the world. The good people of 'The Bridge' provided spiritual comfort for those wounded, traumatized and deeply affected by the tragedy. On behalf of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors, the Virginia Tech administration and the greater university, we extend our sincerest thanks and eternal gratitude for your caring support and human kindness given our community in its darkest hours. Signed, Charles W. Steger, President, and Jacob A. Lutz, III, Rector."
In the spirit of this certificate that recognizes and thanks those
"throughout the world," The Bridge would like to pass on their
"sincerest thanks and eternal gratitude" to the extended Foursquare
family. Thank you for your prayers, encouraging communications, and
varied resources that you so generously and graciously gave. They would
also like to personally thank Pastor Jack Hayford, Glenn Burris Jr.,
Sterling Brackett and other Foursquare leaders, who by the providence
of God, were in Christiansburg, Va., to minister to the church family
and community during the days immediately following this tragic event;
and to Peter Henderson, youth pastor from Littleton Foursquare Church
in Colorado, who came to share his story and lend support to our
community. The people of The Bridge are so blessed to be part of such a
caring and loving family.
